Brief:
Leading Birmingham based R&M Criminal Defense Solicitors specialize in Criminal Defense and has several partners. Due to a successful growth programme, the practice had outgrown its current IT infrastructure and needed to replace it with a robust, reliable solution that would provide sufficient capacity for growth in the future as well as meeting existing needs.
SMS Computer Solutions were contacted and asked to implement a complete new IT infrastructure from start to finish.
Solution:
As well as a complete new Ethernet network put in place, a centralised Server running Microsoft SBS 2003 was also used. Secure remote links using VPNs over ADSL Broadband. Centralised maintenance and management of Servers was provided by our managed services department using telephone, remote and on-site support services.

Brief:
Progressive Mobile Trainers are a innovative company who have come up with a solution to provide training to end users by visiting there site using a state of the art Double decker bus equipped with the latest IT equipment.
SMS were contacted to design & implement a robust network on a double decker bus, capable of being supported remotely from our head office in Birmingham.
Solution:
A HP ProLiant server was placed on the bus and connected via a 100BaseT network to 15 HP EVO workstations and several printing devices. Using our UK based partners we were able to design a mobile network that used a satellite connection to provide broadband to 15 PCs.

Created a solution giving sales staff access to email and company servers via PDAs linked to Bluetooth mobile phones( Smartphones) running Microsoft Windows Mobile Edition 2003 and Blackberry.
